Common Questions

Where do trips depart from?

Centennial Park, 1059 N Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34236. Trips depart 7:30 AM sharp (or by arrangement).

What’s included on every trip?

Bait, tackle, fishing license, ice, water, bags, and fish filleting. Just bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, snacks, and drinks.

How many people can come?

Maximum 4 for offshore/nearshore trips for the most comfortable experience. Inshore can accommodate a 5th child with a $75 add. These are private charters — no splitting trips with strangers.

Do I need a fishing license?

No. Your fishing license is included with every charter.

What’s the deposit policy?

A $100 deposit holds your date. Call or text Captain Gregg to book.

How does tipping work?

Tips for captain and mate are greatly appreciated. 20% is customary but optional.

Is there a credit card fee?

Yes — 4% on credit card payments. Cash is fee-free.

What about safety?

The boat carries a 6-man survival life raft, satellite phone, ACR ResQLink 400 PLB, VHF radio, and life vests. Captain Gregg is a USCG Master Captain (100 Ton). Safety is number one.

What boat will we be on?

The Rod Bender — a 24-foot Wellcraft with a head onboard, powered by a 300 HP Yamaha four-stroke. Comfortable, capable, and built for serious fishing.

What if the weather is bad?

Safety comes first. If conditions are unsafe, we’ll reschedule. Captain Gregg makes the call based on current forecast and on-water conditions.

What do you do with the fish?

Your catch gets cleaned, filleted, and bagged so it’s ready for the dinner table. Some species are catch-and-release based on regulations and conservation.
